Rather, it has some weird dimensions, leaving a large section at the bottom and right of the quad as just black.ĭoes anyone know what's going on here? Is there some commonly used way to apply background textures? I apologize for my noobishness, but I am making a serious attempt to understand how this OpenGL business works. Now, however, while I can see my entire 1920x1200 image, it isn't stretched to fit my quad. That way, I figured my quad would be the same dimensions as the window (800圆00), and my texture would map to it.

I replaced the instances of texture.getTextureWidth() with Display.getWidth() and the same for height. I attempted to fix this by changing the glBegin() to glEnd() block (lines 98-107). I would like the background texture to scale with the window. But images seem to appear as their exact sizes, which means everything will be screwed up if people go full screen or resize their window. Here is the problem: I am trying to use a texture as a 2D background for my window. This is my code, almost directly cut and paste out of the tutorial on how to use slick-util from the LWJGL website: I am trying to teach myself how to use LWJGL, but am having trouble finding helpful tutorials. I am very proficient at Java, but know nothing about OpenGL or computer graphics.
